Quote, estimate or quotation — same template
A quote, an estimate and a quotation are the same document: a price you put in writing before the work begins, with no request for payment yet. What a good quote includes
- Your details and the client’s — names, addresses, and contact info.
- A quote number and dates — a reference number, the date, and a “valid until” date.
- Line items — the work or products, with quantity, unit price and a line total.
- Tax and totals — a single rate, per-line tax or tax-inclusive pricing, with the total calculated for you.
- Notes and terms — what the price covers, and what happens once the quote is accepted.

Is a quote the same as an estimate?
In everyday business they mean the same thing: a price you give a client before the work starts. The tool labels the document “Estimate”, which is the standard term, but it works equally as a quote or quotation.
How do I turn a quote into an invoice?
When the client accepts, click Convert to invoice. The line items and totals carry over, the document is renumbered as an invoice, and your original quote stays saved as a draft.
Can I set how long the quote is valid?
Yes — set a “valid until” date so the client knows when the quote expires. The default is 30 days, and the document notes that it is a quote, not a tax invoice.
Is there a watermark on the quote?
No watermark and no site branding on the PDF. Our name only appears if you deliberately switch on the optional attribution line in the editor.
Where is my quote data stored?
On your device only. Everything runs in your browser — there is no server and no copy of your quotes anywhere. Drafts are saved to your browser’s local storage so you can finish later.
